svchost.exe - Service - WebClient

Q

Can I disable Windows service "WebClient" to speedup my computer?

A
Windows service "WebClient" - Enables Windows-based programs to create, access, and modify Internet-based files. If this service is stopped, these functions will not be available. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Execution command: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k LocalService

It is very unlikely that you have applications on your computer using this service. So you should disable "WebClient", freeing up at least 2MB of memory.

Follow our Disabling Windows Service tutorial, if you want to disable this service.
