Delete email addresses from old XP but not cancel them as they will go on to new Windows 8
Have outlook, aol and gmail on my old XP. I will not use this laptop again and I wish to remove these accounts from this machine. I will then set them up on new Windows 8. However, how do I remove them from XP? Do I just go to Chrome Bookmarks Bar and IE Favourites, where they are situated, and just click 'delete'? Obviously, I do not wish to cancel the accounts.

ou are correct - you can delete your bookmarks (favorites) shortcuts without impacting the actual accounts. Even after you delete these bookmarks, you could still go to the gmail.com website (for example) and get your mail.
If you are going to sell your Windows XP computer or give it away, I would recommend a little more cleaning than just deleting the bookmarks. Just in case, you should also remove any "remembered passwords" from your browser history and such. If you need any assistance in that please don't hesitate to ask.
