Have Office Professional 2013, which is giving me fits. It has Word 8. I write and edit, and need to prepare redlined edited documents. Clients want to see deletions, rewrites, insertions, etc. I have been all over the Internet looking for directions. Highlight Updates in the Show Markup scroll-down menu is dull and I cannot click to activate it.

If you have Office Professional 2013, I'm sure you're using Word 2013 too. Word version 8.0 was included with Office 97, 17 years ago. Anyway, I digress.

Close all Office programs.
Open Word, select "blank document" if prompted.
Immediately click the Track changes button here.
