Q

I have Windows8 and when I try to upgrading to Windows 8. marks an error that it turns into a blue screen that says:

"Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer."

I already try tu use "Windows Update Troubleshooter" but it doesn't work.

This issue might occur due to corrupt Windows Update components.

If you are able to boot the computer normally, I would suggest you to reset Windows Update components and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the methods listed below:

Method 1:
Refer to the link and follow the methods to troubleshoot the issue:

Follow the steps mentioned under section “Windows 8”

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358/en-us

Note: For clean boot: Please refer to the section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

If the issue still persists, proceed to the next method.

Method 2:
Refer to the link to reset the components for Windows Update:

Refer to the section “Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7”

If the troubleshooter does not work, refer to the section “Manually reset Windows Update components” to reset Windows Update components manually from the link;
