What is System Idle Process listed in Windows Task Manager?

In Windows Task Manager, you will see a special process name called "System Idel Process", which is not an running instance of any real programs. It is a place holder representing the free portion of the CPU resource. On a normal Windows system, it is listed in Task Manager with majority of CPU resource and little memory usage.
