A

"DHCP Client (DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)" is a Windows Server 2012 service that registers and updates IP addresses and DNS records for this computer. If this service is stopped, this computer will not receive dynamic IP addresses and DNS updates.

Detailed information on "DHCP Client" service:

Service name: DHCP
Display name: DHCP Client
Execution command:
   C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceNetworkRestricted
Dependencies:
   Ancillary Function Driver for Winsock
   NetIO Legacy TDI Support Driver
   Network Store Interface Service
Impacts:
   Network Location Awareness
   WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service

"DHCP Client" service is provided by the svchost.exe program, see "svchost.exe Executable Program on Windows Server 2012" for details.

Disabling "DHCP Client" service will cause issues on running Windows 2012 Server.
