✍: FYIcenter.com
"Group Policy Client (gpsvc)" is a Windows Server 2012 service that is responsible for applying settings configured by administrators for the computer and users through the Group Policy component. If the service is disabled, the settings will not be applied and applications and components will not be manageable through Group Policy.
Detailed information on "Group Policy Client" service:
Service name: gpsvc Display name: Group Policy Client Execution command: C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe -k GPSvcGroup Dependencies: Mup Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
"Group Policy Client" service is provided by the svchost.exe program, see "svchost.exe Executable Program on Windows Server 2012" for details.
Disabling "Group Policy Client" service should not cause any issues on running Windows 2012 Server. If you are not using the Group Policy to manage system and user settings on the system, you can disable "Group Policy Client" to improve system performance and security.
