How to remove REFIEBAR.DLL - Microsoft Research Extra Toolbar Button and Extra Tools Menu Item for Internet Explorer (IE) browsers?

REFIEBAR.DLL is an Extra Toolbar Button and Extra Tools Menu Item for Internet Explorer (IE) browsers. REFIEBAR.DLL allows you to lookup words in dictionaries in different languages inside the IE browser window.
If you are concerned about your computer performance and security risk, you should remove REFIEBAR.DLL.
1. Close all IE browser windows.
2. Run HijackThis system scan, you should see the following lines in the scan report:
O9 - Extra button: Research - {92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263} - C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\REFIEBAR.DLL O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Research - {92780B25-18CC-41C8-B9BE-3C9C571A8263} - C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\OFFICE11\REFIEBAR.DLL
3. Select those two lines in HijackThis report and click the Fix Checked button to remove the Microsoft Research button and tools menu item.
4. IE browser again. You should not see the Microsoft Research button and tools menu item any more.
