Unknown Device after upgrading to windows 8
I don't know if this is a Windows Problem or an HP problem. HP says windows. But anyhow I have a brand new HP Pavillion M7 1015dx notebook pc and I just upgraded from windows 7 to Windows 8 doing a clean install. After installing all of the appropriate updated drivers from my PC manufacturers website, I have an "Unknown Device" in device manager that I cannot find a driver for. I have tried multiple different avenues to obtain a driver for this thing that I do not know what it is. The Hardware Id's are as follows:
ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_6001
ACPI\HPQ6001
*HPQ6001
I contacted HP tech support and they say that it is a Windows problem. Also I when I enable secure boot and try to boot I immediately get a BSOD. I am not sure but I think that these two problems are related. Any help is much appreciated
