What is the "Netlogon" system service on Windows Server 2012? Can I disable "Netlogon"?
✍: FYIcenter.com
"Netlogon" is a Windows Server 2012 service that
maintains a secure channel between this computer and the
domain controller for authenticating users and services.
If this service is stopped, the computer may not
authenticate users and services and the domain
controller cannot register DNS records.
Detailed information on "Netlogon" service:
Service name: Netlogon Display name: Netlogon Execution command: C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe Dependencies: Workstation
"Netlogon" service is provided by the lsass.exe program, see "lsass.exe Executable Program on Windows Server 2012" for details.
Disabling "Netlogon" service will cause issues on running Windows 2012 Server.
