Netlogon Service on Windows Server 2008
What is the "Netlogon" system service on Windows Server 2008? Can I disable "Netlogon"?
✍: FYIcenter.com
"Netlogon" is a Windows Server 2008 service that
maintains a secure channel between this computer and the domain controller
for authenticating users and services. If this service is stopped, the
computer may not authenticate users and services and the domain controller
cannot register DNS records. If this service is disabled, any services that
explicitly depend on it will fail to start.
Detailed information on "Netlogon" service:
Service name: Netlogon Display name: Netlogon Execution command: C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe Dependencies: Workstation
"Netlogon" service is provided by the lsass.exe program, see "lsass.exe Executable Program on Windows Server 2008" for details.
Disabling "Netlogon" service will cause issues on running Windows Server 2008.
