Difference of Web Page and Single File Web Page
What is the difference between a Web page and a Single File Web Page? Word supports 2 Web page formats: "Web Page (*.htm; *.html)" and "Single File Web Page (*.mht; *.mhtml)". What is the difference between them?
✍: FYIcenter.com
The difference between the "Web Page (*.htm; *.html)" format and the "Single File Web Page (*.mht; *.mhtml)" format is that:
Both "Web Page (*.htm; *.html)" format and Single File Web Page (*.mht; *.mhtml) format uses Microsoft Office specific tags to format the Web page to maintain all formatting features from the original word document.
"Web Page (*.htm; *.html)" format stores the HTML file and additional resource files separately.
Single File Web Page (*.mht; *.mhtml) format stores the HTML file and additional resource files in a single archive file called Web Archive file. A Web Archive file is also called a MIME HTML file because it uses MIME type multipart/related to archive the HTML file and its resource files into a single file.
