Will I need to install antivirus software on Windows 8 Release Preview? I’m currently using Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7, but I don’t see a download option for Windows 8. Are there any antivirus apps compatible with Windows 8?

If you’ve used Security Essentials in the past, Windows Defender on Windows 8 Release Preview will look very familiar. You can find it by typing Windows Defender on the Start screen, and then clicking the Settings filter.

If you want to use a third-party antimalware software, be aware that many antimalware software might not yet be compatible with Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
