Picture Qualities of Camera/Phone
What are picture quality levels supported by my cell phone or camera?
✍: FYIcenter.com
Since most cameras/phones save pictures in JPG/JPEG file format, the "Photo/Picture Quality" setting is really referring to the quality level during the JPG/JPEG compression process when saving pictures in the camera or phone.
In some cameras, you will notice that when you lower the photo quality setting, the total number of pictures you can take will be increased. This is because that each picture file will smaller and you can save more pictures into the camera memory.
In some cell phones, the Photo Quality settings are named as "High", "Medium" and "Low". In others, the settings are named as as "Super fine", "Fine" and "Normal". Those settings are predefined to certain JPG/JPEG compression quality levels in percentages by device manufactures.
