Unable to receive emails as they arrive after installing the latest release

I installed the latest release of the Windows Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging applications and now I can’t receive any mail. How do I correct this?

Thank you for upgrading to the latest version (17.0.1114.318) of the Windows Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging applications. We’ve recently identified an issue with the Download new email as items arrive setting. To address this issue an important update will be released through Windows Update. In the meantime a single reboot after upgrading to the latest version of the applications will resolve the issue.
