Can I disable Windows service "WLANKEEPER" to speedup my computer?

Windows service "WLANKEEPER" - Provides Profile Switching Service for SSO Feature Set
Execution command: C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\WLKeeper.exe
This service is related to your wireless connection. So you should leave it running in "Automatic" mode.
On some computers, you may have to disable WLANKEEPER to allow Windows to manage the wireless card, instead of WLANKEEPER, as reported on forumz.tomshardware.com:
The machines (Dell Latitude F510's) use an Intel onboard wireless card. The driver for the card loads a WLANKEEPER service that runs the irritating Intel software. SO even though I tell Windows to manage the wireless card, the Intel stuff kicks it offline,
Stopping the WLANKEEPER service and setting it to disabled allows me to re-enable WZC and lets Windows manage my wireless word.
