Want to avoid a virus on your pc? Simply power up your pc prior to connecting to the internet. Run any virus scan software (i.e. Avira, McAfee, Norton, etc) and then connect to the internet.Let the virus scan run while you have access to the internet. If you encounter any unusual software promotions (obviously a virus), immediately disconnect from the internet and shut down your system. Wait 5 to 10 seconds before powering up your pc. Reconnect to the internet. You're safe, at least for now.

WINDOWS offers you "Plug and Play" when you install new hardware. The problem is that if you are installing an external dvd drive "HP dvd 1170e", the "Plug and Play" will only recognize the drive as an "HP dvd 1170r". Two different components! What gives? Please explain.

When doing a disk cleanup, I noticed "The YInstStarter Class" module status said "damaged". Is this an integral part of my Windows XP system that I should restore?
