"Smart Card" is a Windows Server 2008 service that
"Manages access to smart cards read by this computer. If this service is stopped, this computer will be unable to read smart cards. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start."
"Smart Card" service is provided by shsvcs.dll DLL file.

Service name: SCardSvr Display name: Smart Card Execution command: C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalServiceAndNoImpersonation Start type: Manual Service status: Stopped Dependencies: Plug and Play
"Smart Card" service is provided by the svchost.exe program, see "svchost.exe Executable Program on Windows Server 2008" for details.
