svchost.exe - Service - DNS Client

Q

Can I disable Windows service "DNS Client" to speedup my computer?

A
Windows service "DNS Client" - Resolves and caches Domain Name System (DNS) names for this computer. If this service is stopped, this computer will not be able to resolve DNS names and locate Active Directory domain controllers. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Execution command: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k NetworkService

If you are using your computer at home, you can disable "DNS Client", freeing up at least 1MB of memory.

If you are using your computer on an office network, you may run this service automatically.

Follow our Disabling Windows Service tutorial, if you want to disable this service.
