, I have a new Toshiba satellite running windows 8 . Although all network/Bluetooth connections say "on" I cannot find my laptop when searching from other Bluetooth devices . Also when I try to search for devices from my laptop it does not find any devises at all ?

1. Do you get any error message when you try to connect the devices using Bluetooth?
2. What is the model of the laptop?

This may be an issue if the device is not discoverable. Here are the methods you may try and check if this helps you in connecting with other devices. I also suggest you to turn on the Bluetooth feature in the laptop using the Wi-Fi button.

Check if the device is detected in Device Manager.

Follow the steps given below to check the status of the device in Device Manager.

a. Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
b. Expand Bluetooth radio and right-click on that.
c. Select Properties and check if the device is working properly under Device Status.

If there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it, then it indicates that there are some issues with it.

Method 1:
Please check if the Bluetooth service is started. To check please follow the steps.

a. Press Windows + R keys.
b. Type Services.msc and press ENTER.
c. Search for Bluetooth service and make sure that the services is started by right click on service and click on “Start”. d. If the service is already started right click on the service and click on “Restart”.
e. Double click on that service and make sure that the startup type is set to “automatic”.

Method 2:
Make sure Bluetooth is on.
1. Press Windows key + C to open the Settings charm, and then click Change PC Settings.
2. Click Wireless.
3. Make sure Bluetooth is set to on.

Method 3: Make sure your Bluetooth device is on and discoverable.
Turn on the device, and then make it discoverable. To learn how to make a device discoverable, check the info that came with your Bluetooth device or go to the manufacturer’s website.

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to install the latest Bluetooth driver for the laptop from Toshiba website and check if it helps.
