HP Laptop cannot connect to security enabled netgear N600 router
New HP laptop CAN connect to Netgear N600 dual band router if NO security is enabled but it cannot if ANY security is turned on be it WPA,WPA2, WPA2-PSK whatever. It can also connect fine if hardwired (of course).
I have reloaded drivers and all the usual remedies but no joy. Also tried using a USB WiFi adapter with same result, can't connect with security enabled. All other devices connect fine including 2 Iphones, android tablet, Apple TV, Apple MacBook pro, printer, etc. so it doesn't seem like a router issue.
Laptop is lightly used, about 6 months old running Windows 8. As a temporary workaround I disabled DHCP, security and enabled device isolation on the router 2.4 ghz radio then assigned static address to the laptop, not much security but that's all I've got. I moved all other devices except one iphone (2.4 ghz only) to the 5 ghz side on a different SSID with WPA2 enabled.
It appears that either the OS has a problem with the encryption shim in the stack or maybe it's a hardware issue. Either way, it works fine with an open WiFi but is completely dead when any type of security at all is enabled, even WEP. I've reached the end of my knowledge here and short of retiring a relatively new machine or trying a full reload of the OS (would use Win 7 X64) I'm stuck. This is the only Win 8 system I've worked on (nasty OS if there ever was one).

-What is the error displayed when it is getting connected to wireless network with security?
I would suggest you to delete the wireless network if it is added as mentioned in this link
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/manage-wireless-network-profiles. Then try to connect, refer http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22144/~/how-to-manually-add-a-wireless-profile-in-windows-8
For further assistance on this issue, I would suggest you to post the query in TechNet forums.
