Unable to access Mega Solitaire game shows incompatible

I have played my Mega Solitaire software for almost a year on my Windows 8 laptop. All of a sudden, I can't access and it is telling me incompatible software. I play it always on my XP desktop. It was created for a much older version of Windows. The only changes to my laptop have been the Microsoft automatic updates.
