Removing nzspc.exe - Startup Application - NetZero Search Enhancements
How to remove nzspc.exe from the startup application list to gain performance and reduce security risk?
✍: FYIcenter.com
Startup application nzspc.exe is installed as part your NetZero dialup Internet connection. It allow you to search the Internet by entering keywords or search phrases directly into your Internet Explorer toolbar. All you have to do to get quick search results is enter the phrase you are searching for directly into your browser's address bar. See our nzspc.exe - Startup Application tutorial for more details.
If you want to remove nzspc.exe from the startup application list to gain performance and reduce security risk, you can follow this tutorial.
There seems to be no way to use NetZero's own configuration to remove itself from the startup application list. So we have to use HijackThis as startup application management tool.
1. Run C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe
2. Click "Do a system scan only".
3. Locate the following entry in the scan report and click Fix Checked.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [spc_w] "C:\Program Files\NZSearch \nzspc.exe" -w
4. Restart your Windows system.
