What is a startup program on my Windows 7 computer?

A startup program on Windows 7 is a program that has been
configured to be launched at the system startup time automatically.
When you install new software applications, many of them will be configured some startup programs. This allows the program to be launched immediately when you start your system, and stay running all the time.
