reader_sl.exe is running as a task but doesn't show up in the startup folder. So I'm still wondering how to remove it.

On my Windows XP, this program was not in the Startup folder. I found it using the Registry Editor in the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run\
