Editing Music Files in Windows 8

Q

I have been updating my music library since getting my new laptop featuring Windows 8.

For the most part, I've been successful in editing titles, release dates, artist names and other file information. However, there are a few music files that will not save edits after entering new information and clicking save. Instead of the new information submitted, the file switches back to the unedited version.

Is this a glitch I have to live with unless I replace the music file altogether or is there a way to override this?

It depends on the file type of the audio file. .MP3 files for example can embed this extra information. Some other file types cannot.
