Is there some way to have a metro app short cut on the desktop or task bar?

I'm just wondering if it is possible to be able to get a metro app short cut on the desktop or task bar for ease of access and would save me a lot of time.

e.g.
I have the metro app Word Book and I want a short cut on the task bar or desktop for ease of access when working on say a word document. so rather than going through start menu i can just well access it much faster through the task bar.

He didn't mean an Ease of Access process, he meant 'Can I pin a modern app to the desktop or taskbar?.' The answer is no, unless you happen to use one of those third-party start-button apps. I'm not sure about how any of them work, but I hear that one or two allow you to do that.
