saving a photo from outlook

Q

I received a photo attached to an email (from outlook). When I try to save it to Windows 8 documents or library it does not show up when I look for it. However, when I try to save it again it suddenly shows up on the screen as being there. When I again go to documents or library it is again absent. How do I save a photo from email?

From the issue description, it appears that you are having problems with downloading photo attachments.

Please answer the following questions so that I could assist you further:
1. Have you made any recent changes to your computer?
2. Do you have a parallel operating system installed?
3. Are you receiving any error messages?
4. Is this happening with any different kind of attachments?
5. Is this happening with any other Outlook account?
6. Is this happening with any other Microsoft account?
7. Is this happening with any other email account?
8. Is this happening with your account on any other computer?

Try the following steps and reply to this post:
1. Download photo

Right click on the image and select save as... and save the image in another location. If that does not work, right- click on the image and select Properties. In the new dialogue box that opens up, search for Image URL. Copy paste it in your address bar and go. Download the image from the page.

2. Download Location
The download location may be the problem. Change the download location in Internet Explorer 10 by selecting the gear icon and clicking Internet Options.

3. Alternative Browser
Try an alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.

4. Mail app
Use the Windows 8 Mail app to open the email and download the photos from there.

5. Hotmail, Windows Live Mail
Use either of Hotmail or Windows Live Mail to sign in to your account and try doing the same task.
