No signal on monitor after Windows 8 logo

Q

I have a Lenovo H430-2558-1ZU desktop running Windows 8 Pro with Media Center. I was using it then all of a sudden the video went dead and I got no signal on the monitor. I restarted and after the Windows 8 logo, I get No Signal on the monitor. Windows 8 is running because I can hear sounds from the speakers. After using this method, I booted into safe mode. I uninstalled the Intel HD Graphics driver from safe mode and restarted in normal mode. It was fine for a few minutes, but then I got no signal on the monitor. So I booted into safe mode again and uninstalled the driver. I installed a new driver from intel's website, but I still have the same problem. I tried to uninstall the monitor driver, but still have the same issue. The monitor is connected to the computer's HDMI port via an XtremeMac HDMI to DVI cable. The monitor is aViewsonic VX1945wm I've used for many years. I don't think this is a hardware problem, because my Ubuntu install works just fine. I'm at a loss here, IDK what to do. Please help!

Yes, you are right, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the hardware. It appears that the graphics card is corrupted or is overheating.

Do you see any error message on the graphics card from Device Manager when you boot from Safe Mode?

As you already know how to go into Advanced Boot Options using the Windows 8 DVD, I would suggest that you once again go to Advanced Boot Options and choose the option Enable low-resolution mode. This starts Windows using your current video driver.
