HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT80N (error code 19)

Q

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged error code 19 I've already tried to do some of the actions mentioned in a similar topic before but it still doesn't work...windows detectes it and say something like "driver has to be installed again" but even doing so nothing happens...moreover I don't know why I can't run Mr fix, it just says "Error"

Please be kind enough to tell me step by step how can I work it out.
All I've done so far is :
- searching for new drivers (but they were already updated)
- unistalled and installed again the device
- did a laptop recovery
- followed the troubleshooter instruction word by word
- tried (with no success) to run Mr. fix

Toshiba machines have a problem with some software that needs uninstalled...

Toshiba Disc Creator and\or Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.

There is a problem with one of the features in iTunes that causes the same problem...

the solution is to install the newest "GEAR" drivers... http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.php

There can be other issues in the registry for the drive... Some programs add something to the "Filters" that can sometimes cause a problem.... Take a look at this link for more details...
