Cannot get into Safe Mode

Q

Fairly new Toshiba Satellite p875-s7102. Laptop has not been working for a week, been trying everything. Now I can't even get into Safe Mode. Almost every link I read shows how once you get to the Windows Start page but I can't even get to that. I have beat the **** out of F8 button to no luck. I have had every issue trying to fix this lap- error messages, blue screen, Disk at 100% usage, Check disc at start stopping at 40% scan, you name it it's happened. Any suggestions other than throwing this thing against the wall???Oh, and I have already done System Restore and Restart so that won't work even if I could get there

If you can get to a .CMD Prompt through one of the Repair functions, you might try this...

If you have a installation or repair disk, start at #1, otherwise look for something comparable to #3 or #5 to get started...

BTW.. F8 or Shift+F8 no longer brings up Safe Mode on Win 8 machines... It may be possible that Toshiba has added that into their boot features though...

1) Boot from the Windows 8 DVD
2) Select Next
3) Select Repair your computer

4) Select Troubleshoot
5) Select Advanced Options
6) Select Command Prompt

7) Type - Bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes (take note of spaces)
8) Type - exit

9) Reboot
10) At the boot screen select F8
11) Select Safe mode with Networking

This can then be turned off when finished.
1) Start Command Prompt (Admin) by right clicking lower left corner when Start pops up.
2) Type - Bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu no (take note of spaces)
3) Type - exit

Also... can you get to a Toshiba feature at boot, to Return the machine to OEM ?
Possibly even in boot options... something like F11 or F12. ESC and Del also work on some machines.
