COMMAND PROMPT 6118 ERROR "NET VIEW"

Having a problem with the Net View command in CMD. I get and error; 6118. I am running os windows 8 and I have norton security installed if that helps any. Ive been trying to find solutions to this problem but no luck.

NET VIEW command is used to view a list of computer or network resources. The NET VIEW command displays a list of computers in the specified workgroup, or shared resources available on the specified computer.
Is your computer connected to a Domain?

You can try the following steps if the computer is not connected to a Domain.
a. From Start screen, type Command prompt.
b. Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Adminstrator.
c. Now in the command prompt window, type sfc /scannow (note, there is a space between sfc and /scannow)
