I have recently did a System Restore on my HP Envy Notebook. After doing so I discovered a lot of programs running on my computer that I did not authorized. I also noticed a lot of programs that were running that were also hidden. I've noticed that my computer have several modules or programs set up that deals with Remote settings. Is there anyway I can remove these items?

Do you get any error message on the computer?
Have you installed any adware on the computer?
I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.
Method 1:
I suggest you to check the programs installed on the computer in Control Panel and if you find any application which are irrelevant you can g ahead and uninstall them.

To do so:
Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
Select Add or Remove Programs. Right click on the programs which you need to uninstall and select Uninstall.

Method 2:
Turn On User Account Control:

You can turn on the User Account Control and check.

Step 1: Open Run dialog box. To do this, use Windows + R keys. Type control.exe in the box and hit enter key to launch Control Panel.

Step 2: In the Control Panel, click on System and Security and then click Change User Account Control settings to open UAC settings window.

Step 3: to enable or turn on UAC, move the slier to Always Notify or default position, and click OK .Click Yes for the UAC prompt.

Method 3:
If the issue persists I suggest you to scan the computer using Microsoft Safety Scanner and check.

To download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner, follow these steps:

a) Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner site at: Microsoft Safety Scanner

b) Click Download Now.
c) If prompted, click Run. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Microsoft Safety Scanner. When prompted, add a shortcut to the Microsoft Safety Scanner to your desktop.
d) From your desktop, double click the Microsoft Safety Scanner icon. When the Microsoft Safety Scanner program launches, click Scan Type, then click Full Scan, then click Next.
e) After the scan is complete, remove all detected malware entries

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
