Display crashes, EXCEPT when playing games

Q

My display driver crashes randomly when surfing the web. My screen goes blank, but the computer is still running, I know this because I still hear people in video chat and youtube videos. The only way I can keep this from happening is to run a game. If I am playing a game no crash. I can also minimize a game to the task bar and no crash. I thought if I adjusted the voltage on my graphics card it would keep from happening but alas after several times trying this it does not work. I originally thought it was my graphics card, but have since switched out the old card and have the same problem. I have also tried disabling all services. Updated my motherboard Bios. Updated graphics drivers, rolled back graphics drivers. Tested my ram, and checked my power options in control panel.
