This issue may occur if the BIOS does not detect the hard disk or if hard disk is damaged.

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things like:

Do you get any error messages?

Do you have Windows 8 recovery disc or an installation disc?

Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?

Please follow the below method and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to make sure that in boot sequence in BIOS, HDD is selected as the first boot device and I suggest you to get in touch with the computer manufacturer or refer to the computer user manual on how to check the boot priority. Give BIOS disclaimer.

NOTE: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Method 2: If u don’t have installation media then, I suggest you to create installation media using the below link.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

After creating media you need to perform automatic repair using Windows 8 DVD.

Boot from the Windows 8 DVD.

Once you get the welcome screen of installation with the option “Install now”

Click on Repair your computer

On the next page click on Advanced Options.

Now click on

Click on Automatic repair and follow the on screen instructions.

Method 3: If the issue persists, you may also try to rebuild the BCD booting from the Windows 8 installation media and follow these instructions:

Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 8 from it.

In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’ and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.

Click on Repair your computer.

Click on Troubleshoot and then select Advanced Options.

Click on Command prompt and type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

Bootrec /fixmbr

Bootrec /fixboot

Bootrec /rebuildbcd

6. Restart the computer. Check if the issue persists.
