Starting Apache Server Manually on Windows Systems
How to start Apache server manually on Windows systems?

1. Click Start > Programs > Apache HTTP Server 2.2.3 > Control Apache Server menu
2. Select "Start Apache in console" from the menu. You will see a blank command line window shows up.
3. Run a Web browser and enter the this URL: http://localhost:8080/. 
You will see Apache HTTP server retuns a short message: "It works!" as shown in this picture:
