The Music app is just not finding any of my music in an library I point it at.
Before we begin lets start with what I have already tried so we don't keep going over old ground:
1) I have followed the little link to the xbox site and 'managed' my music folder.
2) I have copied a number of mp3's to the my windows music library folder and still didn't work (yes I still have it as one of my managed folders)
3) I have deleted the folders in my 'managed' library and added only one, still doesn't work.
4) I have changed the permission on the default windows folder and my music folder so that every user has full access. Still doesn't work.

I keep getting the silly " its lonely here......." message box
The thing is if I select a music file using the 'open and play something' option the app plays it just fine.
This seems like something that should have been picked up and ironed out in all of this beta testing that everyone did.

I am also having issues with the Xbox Music app. I like the layout of the app, aside from the absence of podcasts. however, I do have problems with the app not finding all of my music. It finds some music in a folder, but not others. It will find some MP3 songs, but not all, same with WMA. The app is very scattershot in what it will find with no rationale as to why it chose what it did. Until this issue is sorted out, I'm sticking with the Zune software. Here's what I have done so far....
Zune has my music libraries correct, but I tried removing my music folders (Located on D:) and adding them back to the library, nothing changed.
Moving some of the affected folders out of their subfolders and into the Public Music folder, nothing changed.
I tried changing ownership, I was already the owner.
Tried adding "Everyone" to the list of user names under security, nothing changed.
Launched WMP and Zune to see if there were any problems there, Zune was as I left it prior to installing Windows 8, WMP found all songs.
Made sure all users who are able to access the folders had full control, nothing.
Removed the music app, restarted, and added it back. Nothing.
