vssvc.exe - Service - Volume Shadow Copy

Q

Can I disable Windows service "Volume Shadow Copy" to speedup my computer?

A
Microsoft application service "Volume Shadow Copy" - Manages and implements Volume Shadow Copies used for backup and other purposes. If this service is stopped, shadow copies will be unavailable for backup and the backup may fail. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Execution command: C:\WINDOWS\System32\vssvc.exe

If you are not using Microsoft Backup Utilities, you should disable "Volume Shadow Copy", freeing up at least 2MB of memory.

Follow our Disabling Windows Service tutorial, if you want to disable this service.
