svchost.exe - Service - Remote Registry

Q

Can I disable Windows service "Remote Registry" to speedup my computer?

A
Windows service "Remote Registry" - Enables remote users to modify registry settings on this computer. If this service is stopped, the registry can be modified only by users on this computer. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Execution command: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService

You definitely don't want anyone to modify the registry settings of your computer from a remote computer. So you should disable "Remote Registry", freeing up at least 1MB of memory.

Follow our Disabling Windows Service tutorial, if you want to disable this service.
