Suggestion about copying files

Q

In windows 8 when you use a portable drive to copy files from the hard drive to the portable, it should tell you you are about to copy files from C/ **** to f/***** to make sure you are copying to the correct drive. Also when a file is a duplicate, like in windows 7 it should tell you "newer" or "older" for the destination you are copying the same file to. How could this have been overlooked? This is so basic to make sure you are not replacing a newer file with an older by mistake. Or to protect from copying from the portable drive with older files to the C drive. Please change this.

Are you using File Explorer?
If you Copying Duplicate it will stop and prompt you with choices
Coping XX files from ______ to ______
The destination has XX files with the same names.
1. Replace the files in the destination.
2. Skip these files.
3. Let me decide for each file
