Activating Windows 8 Pro
I've recently bought the Windows 8 Pro student upgrade pack from Microsoft stores hoping to install it in my new hybrid hard drive. I already have Windows Vista on my older hard drive but I've taken that hard drive out after downloading and burning Windows 8 onto a DVD. I installed Windows 8 on the new hybrid hard drive and after installation, I noticed that it says "Product ID not available" in My Computer's Properties.
Noticing this, I went to control panel to activate my Windows 8 Pro but after entering the product in the Activate Windows section, my product key doesn't seem to work.
How do activate Windows 8 if that's the case? Do I need my previous hard drive that contains Vista plugged into the computer's 2nd partition or switch it with the one currently running Windows 8 Pro?
