Note: Follow How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot from article KB929135 to reset the computer to normal mode.

Method 3: I would suggest you to uninstall the touch screen/mouse drivers completely and reinstall in Windows 7 compatibility mode and check if that helps. Follow these steps to uninstall the drivers.

a) Move the mouse pointer to bottom left of the screen where you see preview of start menu and Right-click to bring up a list of Windows settings.

b) Select ‘Device manager’ and then locate ‘Mice and other pointing devices’ and expand the same.

c) Right-click on the touchpad/mouse and then uninstall the drivers.

d) Download and install the touchpad/mouse drivers for Windows 7 operating system from the manufacturer’s website and check if that helps.

e) Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’.

f) Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 7 operating system from the drop down.

g) Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.
