What is Windows Update on Windows 7?

Windows Update is a system application on Windows 7 to deliver updates of systems components and drivers. It also provides automatic updating options.

Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

To start Windows Update, you can go to "Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Update". You see the current update status of your Windows system. For example:

You receive updates: Managed by your system administrator

You can click the following links to perform various related actions:

• Check for updates - Calling Microsoft servers to see if there are any new updates.
