As per the problem description, I understand that your computer CPU percentage goes high while using USB audio device.
I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.
Do other USB devices shows normal CPU percentage?
Which security software is currently installed on your computer?
Were there any significant software or hardware changes made prior to this issue?
Generally this problem appears because of an issue with the usbport.sys driver, however, there can be other possible reasons like third party program interference, virus/malware attack, security software conflict etc. as well.
Let’s try these methods below to identify the actual cause of the issue and troubleshoot accordingly.
Method 1:
Step 1: Safe Mode
Let’s boot the computer in safe mode and check if the CPU percentage still goes up when the USB audio device is connected.
Safe mode is a diagnostic mode that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The words Safe Mode appear in the corners of your monitor to identify which Windows mode you’re using.
Follow the steps in the article below to start the computer in safe mode.
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode
If the issue doesn’t persists in safe mode, place the computer in clean boot and check. If the problem persists in safe mode as well, skip step 2 and proceed with the next Method.

Step 2:
Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
Refer: How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot" under more information to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

Method 2:
Scan your computer with Microsoft Safety Scanner just to make sure that your computer is free of all infections.
Here is the link for Microsoft Safety Scanner. http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Method 3:
Temporarily disable security software and check
Your security software might be conflicting with the program update, let’s try to disable security software temporarily and check if installing updates.
