Can't turn on Windows Defender after removing McAfee
I have the same problem. McAfee was installed on my HP laptop; I uninstalled it and wanted to use Defender. But in the Action Center, when I click on the Windows Defender button that says TURN ON NOW, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Can you try running the McAfee removal tool? Simply right-click the link below and select save target as. Save it in your desired location then run it.
If you install any other Antivirus Program (Webroot) Windows Defender turns itself off and can not be turned back on. If you want to use Windows Defender you will first have to uninstall Webroot and then go to their web site and download and run their removal tool to get rid al all left-overs. Then restart an check Action Center to be sure Windows Defender and Windows Firewall is running. If not turn them on.
