I have just purchased Asus laptop made one or two changes ie deleting adware ,option to reboot now or reboot later chose to reboot now laptop appears to be stuck at configuring windows features 100% complete for about 25 mins is this normal?

Yes this is normal. Windows installs latest updates on your computer and it takes few minutes to complete. Wait for some time and check if the updates installs fine after restart.
