Security Settings on IE 11 Set Up
What are security settings on IE 11 set up screen? Should I select "Use recommended security, privacy, and compatibility settings"?
✍: FYIcenter.com
If you are using Internet Explorer (IE) 11 for the first time,
you will get the security set up screen.
Change the settings as below and click OK to continue.
[ ] Use recommended security, privacy, and compatibility settings SmartScreen Filter helps protect you from malicious websites and software by sending some web addresses to Microsoft to be checked. Compatibility lists are downloaded to make Internet Explorer features works better with changing websites and older PC hardware. [*] Don't use recommended settings [ ] Send Do Not Track requests to tell sites you prefer not be tracked.
Using the recommended security settings is not a good idea, because it will block too many websites automatcially.
Sending "Do Not Track" requests is useless, because not many websites listen to your requests.
